I've been on vacation the last couple days. The day after Christmas I got on a plane (so won't go into the drama of the airport security which resulted in my missing my first flight--I want that to be distant memory!) and I headed to Louisville for a few days with my bud, Gwendolyn Cease.
OMG we've been having so much fun. The funny thing is we haven't been doing much of anything. Really. I got to sleep in each morning--what a treat! We've hit Starbucks a few times, had DELICIOUS Gigi's cupcakes. Serious sugar rush that was so worth it. But mostly we've just been having out, visiting and writing. It's been serioulsy awesome.
Sadly, I'm leaving tomorrow. :( The family is picking me up from the airport, and I don't even get to go home. LOL We are immediately driving to the UP of MI to see my parents and sister for New Year's weekend. If I could have arranged to fly to the UP instead of hours on an airplane followed by hours in the car, I would have, but *sigh* can't be helped. I am looking forward to the time with family, though. :) Then it's back home in 2011 and back to the routine of school and activities and all that.
Now, I'm off to hang out with Gwen, maybe fit some more writing in before I have to go to sleep--because it's an EARLY flight. *groan*
Hugs

Writing, Travelling, and a new kitchen
First, I must YAY here--my kitchen is done. Has been for a little bit, but still super excited about it. I have new counters, refaced cabinets, new island, and *drumroll* a dishwashers. Wooohooo Right now, loading the dishwasher is a novelty, and as my 7 yr old DS says while doing it, "This is much fun." LOL
I'm writing like mad, finishing up the latest Fey story and thinking ahead to the vamp story that's percolating.
I'll be traveling this weekend--sans DH and kids. A very rare thing and I plan to enjoy it. My "baby" sister is graduating from college so I'm headed to attend the ceremony. We'll go up as a family over Memorial Day for the party with relatives etc, but I'm so happy to be going to share this with my sis and to get a wee break. :)
Now I have to get back to writing, or Devon R will kick my tail--she already busted me on facebook earlier today when I should have been writing. LOL

Long, lazy weekend
Last weekend until school starts. Wooo. Since the hubby had Friday and Monday off, we headed to northern MN when his parents have a lake house. It's beautiful up here--even though I saw a tree that was changing colors already. So not cool.
Right now, the girls are with Daddy and Grandpa out on the lake fishing. The oldest kiddo is lazing around reading (really, he is SO my kid), while the youngest boy is running around crazy, making me exhausted just looking at him.
I'm getting ready to take my pen and notebook out on the deck and write. I'm kinda hitting a wall with the current WIP, though I know exactly what is going to happen, what needs to happen. Sometimes scribbling in a notebook makes things click for me. Don't know why, but I'm not going to question it.
So I'll get to enjoy the lovely weather--and the gorgeous sunset over the lake--and hopefully make some progress on the stubborn hero who is giving me fits. He's just lucky I *heart* him so much, or I'd kill him off. LOL
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

I'm baaack
We just got home from a family vacation, and boy, was it nice. We went to Wisconsin Dells, and the kids had a blast at the water parks. The hubby and I did too! LOL Even though I got a tad sunburned in the process. LOL Getting away and spending quality time with the family was just what I needed. :)
I've been writing like crazy, even on the vaca. I'm finishing up another vampire story--a sequel to Lust Me, Trust Me. It's Jae's story and he is keeping me busy and hopping, let me tell you! I'm also working on a special project with my girl, Gwen Cease. I'll share more about that later, but I'll just tell you it's fun, fun, fun and hot, hot, hot. :-D
Now, I'm gearing up to work hard the rest of the summer. I'm writing, of course, and gardening to my little heart's content. We've been eating fresh strawberries--YUM--and our mulberries trees are full and the berries are nearly ripe. I've been looking up recipes for those yummy fruits. And I got baby tomatoes. Yay. I'm looking forward to making delish fresh tomato recipes. :-D This is one of my favorite things about summer.
Now, I'm off to fix supper and feed the natives!
