Spring, I'm Waiting...

I'm a bit impatient for spring, I will admit. I have a love-hate relationship with the season. I love the warming up and easing into summer; I hate the allergies I suffer while everything is coming to life.

But instead of warm winds, buds and green, this is what I'm seeing in April, for Pete's sake.

To top it off, I have the head cold from hell, so I can't even take comfort in the absence of allergies because I still have the sinus pressure, draining and all that. :(

So, Spring, please, hurry up. I would love to go outside without bundling up and maybe even open my windows for some fresh air. And I promise I won't even complain about the allergies this year. ;)

And so I leave you all with a much happier image than the ones above... Here is my lake (aka Lake Superior) in her glory. And I will be on her shores in a two month's time for a writing retreat.

Driving the Coast of Lake Superior

I will say right off the bat that I'm incredibly lucky to have Bronwyn Green as a friend. We often say we are separated at birth and live parallel lives. Really, sometimes, it's eerie.

After our touristy visit to Copper Harbor, Bron and I drove back along the coast of Lake Superior. It was awesome, because she's just as in love with the lady lake as I am. We'd be driving along and I'd say something like "OMG, that's gorgeous." Bron would hit the brakes and pull over, then we'd be snapping pics like crazy.

Here are some of the gorgeousness we saw...

SOME RANDOM STOPS ALONG THE WAY

GREAT SAND BAY

JACOB'S FALLS
Seriously this is just a little stop on the side of the road, but just beautiful.

And one final pic...
When I tell people how much snow they get in the UP, I get a lot of disbelieving stares. Well, here ya go... A buttload of snow falls up there thanks to the lake.

And there it is photographic proof of my love of Lake Superior... the photos don't do justice to the gorgeousness of it. I can't wait to go back!

Hugs,
~J
